  • On 3/11/20, WHO declared a pandemic. These prices and pictures remember that historic time

On March 11th 2020, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared the novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) a pandemic, affecting millions of people, society, and worldwide economies. Many of the repercussions of this declaration are likely to be felt for years to come.

The declaration of a pandemic was only the latest of a series of steps taken by the WHO and other medical authorities in response to the virus. Since the virus first started to spread, people have been sharing pictures, stories, and experiences on social media. While these messages have served to bring us together and provide us with much-needed hope in difficult times, they also give us a glimpse into the past.

When looking back at pictures shared on social media during this time, it is impossible to forget the drastic measures that had to be taken in order to contain the spread of the virus. From masks becoming a common sight to social gatherings being cancelled, this period of time will be remembered for years to come.

Likewise, the price of essential items such as food and medical supplies rose sharply. Essential items, as well as toilet paper, became hard to find and prices increased due to increased demand and an overall shortage in global supply. This only further serves to remind us of this difficult time.

The effects of the pandemic will no doubt be felt for many years to come. However, the historic events of 3/11/20 will remain in our minds for the foreseeable future. Pictures and price increases will undoubtedly serve to remind us of this difficult but important time. We can only hope that such a time is never repeated again. [ad_1]
