Today, the Pine and Lakes Echo Journal announced the news that an educational fund offering $1000 scholarships for disciplines related to engineering, robotics, and welding is now available.
The scholarship program, established by the Pine and Lakes Echo Journal and a major award sponsor, is available to students who are currently in their senior year of high school and plan to pursue a college education in engineering, robotics, or welding. The qualified applicants must demonstrate helpful leadership qualities, a strong academic record, and a deep interest in following the potential career paths that the aforementioned disciplines offer.
The scholarship program is designed to encourage individuals to pursue these high-demand and in-demand areas of study, counteracting the underrepresentation that the industries of engineering, robotics, and welding have seen in recent years. In making the announcement, the representative of the program noted that, “Our goal is to ensure that all students have reasonable access to the educational opportunities offered in these fields and to close the diversity gap.”
Financial aid specialists suggest that this is a fantastic and timely opportunity for many students interested in the fields of engineering, robotics, or welding to supplement the cost of an upcoming college education and get the most out of their college journey.
All applicants are required to submit an essay of no more than 500 words detailing their chosen career path, including what aspect of it they find most compelling, how they think they’ll make a difference, and how they plan to make use of their degree.
The Pine and Lakes Echo Journal are delighted to constitute such an incredible initiative, allowing local students to get the most out of the opportunities that their fields of study provide.
For more information on how to apply, eligible students should visit the Pine and Lakes Echo Journal website at www.pineandlakes.com/scholarship. The application period closes on June 30th, 2021.
